Grants to Washington nonprofit organizations, public and private schools, and community service groups in eligible locations to support community gardening projects. Funding is intended for activities that enhance or conserve the environment and for horticulture education projects. Eligible applicants are located in Clark County.

Grant applications may request funding for:

  • Horticultural educational materials and resources
  • Plants, seeds, small hand tools, soil amendments, and raised bed materials
  • Other horticultural supplies for gardening or greenhouse use
  • Signage 

MGFCC accepts applications from public and private schools interested in developing garden, environmental, or plant-oriented education projects. The aim of the program is to encourage students to develop a better understanding of plants through a variety of creative, student-centered activities. Grant supported school activities should be focused at times when students are present.

Term of Contract:

The grant period ends November 15th of the year the grant is awarded.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

MGFCC awards funds to qualified not-forprofit groups, community service groups, and schools in Clark County, Washington. MGFCC accepts applications from public and private schools

MGFCC will not fund grant requests that are:
• For improving private property
• To reimburse funds already expended
• Outside Clark County, Washington

Pre-Application Information:

Applications must be received at the Master Gardener Foundation Office before 5 pm on October 23, 2020.

• Applications open: August 15, 2020
• Applications due: October 23, 2020
• MGFCC grant committee review period: October 24, 2020, to Jan 7, 2021
• Applicant notification of committee decision: January 17, 2021
• On-site project review with board member(s): July and August 2021
• Reimbursement requests due: No later than November 15, 2021
