LCYC) protects the interests safety of in Washington by advancing their rights. We accomplish our mission through direct representation, strong community partnerships, systemic advocacy. Our four main focus areas include: child welfare, juvenile court, immigrant families, homelessness. LCYC was created, has continued to evolve, in response to community needs service gaps, increasing literacy expanding access to justice young people in Washington. We provide -centered, community-based, holistic advocacy to hundreds of annually. Most are between 12 -24 years in age. Due to racism oppression, of color LGBTQ+ are overrepresented within the systems that LCYC works among the represented by LCYC. We apply lessons learned from young people, community partners, direct services to inform our systemic advocacy work.
