- We're helping Hawai’i outsmart dementia
by transforming the fear of cognitive decline into the confidence to prevent it. - Programs or services
- Our Brain Health Huis educate and empower participants to take control of their brain health. Each 6-session Hui educates participants on the evidence-based lifestyle habits that reduce their risk of dementia. Beyond education, the participants learn from and encourage each other to implement and sustain healthy habits.
Exercise is the single most evidence-supported intervention for brain health. Our Brain Power 'brain gym' program uses evidence-based dual-task exercises and 'exergaming' to stimulate the body and the brain at the same time. Dual-task exercises and exergaming have been shown through research to have an enhanced effect on cognition. Further, the novelty and fun of this type of programming promotes adherence. - Target Audience
