Grant Description
Grants of up to $25,000 to Washington nonprofit organizations in eligible counties for programs and activities that benefit women and children who are facing challenging situations. Funding is intended to respond to community needs and improve the lives of women and children by assisting in their care and development. Eligible programs benefit Benton and Franklin Counties.

Women Helping Women values programs that balance cost-effectiveness with need, maximize community resources, are viable and sustainable, use a collaborative approach, and are able to measure impact and evaluate outcomes.

Programs will be considered that offer preventive strategies and/or proactive initiatives in one or more of the following areas:

  • Childcare/early learning opportunities
  • Drug use prevention, especially as it impacts the lives of children
  • Family violence
  • Food Insecurity
  • Homelessness
  • Mental Health
  • Parental and caregiver education and support
  • Programs designed to reduce the incidence of high school dropout through direct student assistance
  • Self-sufficiency for women (including, but not limited to, employment training).


Recipient

Additional Eligibility Criteria
Only agencies with a 501(c)(3) non-profit designation are eligible.

WHWF-TC funds specific programs, not agencies, which support women and children in vulnerable situations.

The WHWF-TC considers grant applications for programs in Benton and Franklin Counties only.

Ineligible
WHWF-TC does not fund individuals, political action organizations, endowment funds, and no more than 15% of the administrative costs of the proposed program.

Pre-Application Information
Current and complete grant proposals must be received at the WHWFTC office by Friday, March 17, 2023, at 12:00 noon to be considered for funding in 2023.

Estimated Size of Grant
Grants typically range from $2,500 to $25,000. The October luncheon proceeds will determine the amount to be awarded for the following grant year.

Term of Contract
For Grant Year January 1, 2024 - December 31, 2024.
