Grants to Washington nonprofit organizations, for-profit businesses, government agencies, and faith-based entities in eligible locations to support community services that benefit low- and moderate-income residents. Eligible projects improve and expand services in the city of Marysville.
The Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) Program provides annual grants on a formula basis to develop viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment, and by expanding economic opportunities, principally for low and moderate-income persons.
Eligible public service activities include, but are not limited to, services concerned with:
CDBG funds may be used to pay for labor, supplies, and material, as well as to operate and/or maintain the portion of a facility in which the public service is located. This includes the lease of a facility, equipment, and other property needed for the public service. Emergency grant payments for food, clothing, and shelter (rent, mortgage, utilities) needs are eligible activities as long as the payments do not exceed three months and the payments are made directly to the provider of such services on behalf of an individual or family.
