Grants of up to $7,500 to Western Washington Jewish nonprofit organizations for new, one time, or pilot projects that serve the Jewish community in Puget Sound. Arts and culture nonprofit organizations in South Snohomish or King counties with a "Jewish-themed" project are also eligible to apply.

The Special Initiatives Fund Committee is especially interested in proposals for projects that reach unconnected or unaffiliated community members and/or involve collaboration between more than one organization. 

Specialized equipment purchases related to program execution will be considered.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Grants are capped at $7,500. If the project budget is greater than $7,500, your organization must verify other revenue sources. If your organization cannot verify other revenue sources at the time of disbursement, the award may be renegotiated.

Term of Contract:

Projects must be completed within 12 months of the award date.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

-Any Jewish organization in Western Washington that is a 501(c)(3), fiscally sponsored, or is presumed to be according to IRS regulations (e.g. synagogues).
-Nonprofit arts and culture organizations in King or South Snohomish counties with a “Jewish-themed” project may also apply.
-Organizations may submit no more than two (2) applications. Programs that are a part of the organization’s current or past operating budgets are not permitted.

The following are not eligible for funding:
-Capital campaigns
-Partisan political activities

Pre-Application Information:

-Applications submitted by 3 pm PST on Friday, November 8 will be reviewed for any missing documentation, giving applicants a chance to complete the application.
-The final application due date is 3 pm PST on Friday, November 22.
-The goal is to announce grant recipients in February 2020.

-Late applications and incomplete applications submitted after the November 8 review deadline will not be considered.

-Each organization must provide a copy of its 501(c)(3) letter or sponsoring nonprofit’s 501(c)(3) letter with the application.

-The Federation suggests that you review the components of the application by reviewing the sample application (available in the "Supporting Documents" field below), which includes all of the application questions as well as the qualities the Federation looks for in successful applications.
