Grants to Washington nonprofit organizations to increase access to dental healthcare and improve oral health for underserved communities in eligible areas. Funding may be used for capital projects that increase access to care, for operational funds to test innovative strategies to improve oral health delivery, and to address social determinants of health.

An example of a successfully funded project could include a capital grant to expand an existing FQHC dental clinic and an operational grant to hire a community health worker to outreach into a local immigrant community.

Geographic Location – Project must meet at least two of the following criteria: 

  • Located in Washington and benefit individuals within Washington
  • Located in a non-urban community or within a Dental HPSA
  • Located in a community with unmet dental needs
  • Located in local impact network (LIN) community

Project Requirements – Project must meet at least two of the following criteria:

  • Increase oral health access for high risk populations
  • Include innovative strategies to transform oral health care delivery for high risk populations.
  • Seek to address one or more social determinants of health

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Requests are considered from organizations that fit with current Foundation’s funding priorities interest and have been ruled to be tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or similar status. Charitable organizations applying for support must possess the most current IRS documentation reflecting their status or qualification as a tax-exempt entity.

Pre-Application Information:

Applicants must submit a LOI to Foundation prior to submitting a grant application. All prospective applicants should contact Chad Lennox for LOI criteria.

LOIs must be submitted by January 2nd or July 1st. Funding decisions will be announced in June and December.
