In-Kind Grants of $200 gift cards to USA individuals and community, school, and nonprofit groups for youth-led community service projects. Funding is intended to support service campaigns for animals, people, and the environment. Successful applications will demonstrate elements of service learning, youth leadership, and community impact.

- Youth Leadership: Young group members turn their passions into service campaigns that positively impact their communities.
- Service Learning: Service learning extends beyond community service to include an educational component and celebration of the group's work.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Mini-grants are awarded in amounts of $200 in the form of a VISA gift card.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Individuals, community groups, school groups, non-profit groups, and families leading service learning campaigns are welcome to apply.

To be eligible, applicants must reside in the United States and be a registered member of Roots and Shoots. Registration is free. Register here: http://www.rootsandshoots.org/user/register.

Individuals who have already received a mini-grant during the same calendar year are not eligible to apply until the following year. Group projects that have already received support from a Roots & Shoots mini-grant (via other members of the group, organizations or colleagues) are not eligible to receive additional grants during the same school year. Groups residing outside of the United States are not eligible.

2019 Deadlines: ‚Äč2/04, 3/25, 4/29, 6/10, 7/29, 9/09

If you miss a deadline, your application will be considered for the next deadline.

How to apply:

1. Create a community map. Find mapping activities at http://www.rootsandshoots.org/mapping.
2. Use your map to identify a service campaign for people, animals, or the environment.
3. Apply online using the link provided in Contact Information below.

Your mini-grant will be mailed to the address you provided in your application form in the form of a VISA gift card. You should receive your mini-grant within 6 weeks of the application deadline.
