Grants to USA nonprofit organizations to improve the lives of injured military veterans and their families. DAV (Disabled American Veterans) leaders formed the DAV Charitable Service Trust to advance services that cater to the nation’s veterans as well as to their caregivers and families. The DAV Charitable Service Trust leads a grant program for organizations that fulfill a need or array of needs for sick, wounded, and homeless or at-risk veterans throughout the nation. Though the Trust recognizes that the needs of veterans are often unique to a particular military family or veteran of a specific era, many of the services provided with grants funds reflect the rehabilitation for physical and/or psychological wounds from combat.

The  Trust is dedicated to one, single purpose: Empowering veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity. To carry out this responsibility, the Trust supports:

  •  Physical and psychological rehabilitation programs
  •  Therapeutic or recreational activities for those with physical and/or psychological limitations
  •  Research and mobility items for veterans with amputations, spinal cord injuries, vision loss,   and hearing loss
  •  Benefits for aging veterans
  •  Aids,  shelters, and supplies food and other necessary items to homeless and at-risk veterans
  •  Education or training for veterans seeking career-readiness and skill development
  •  Needs of veterans wounded in recent wars and conflicts
