Grants to Sedro-Woolley, Washington nonprofit organizations and city-owned facilities to attract tourists to the area and increase overnight stays. Funding is intended for tourism marketing that will attract visitors traveling at least 50 miles, and for special events and festivals.

The 2020 funding program is open to organizations with the demonstrated ability to achieve the following tourism goals:

  • Increase hotel occupancy in Sedro-Woolley by creating overnight stays
  • Increase overnight stays during the off season
  • Provide visitor attractions and/or promote the area's existing attraction.
  • Attract more businesses to Sedro-Woolley and thereby generate additional business for hotels and motels.

All applications must include estimates of how funding will result in increases to people staying overnight, traveling 50 miles or more, or coming from another state or country.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The program is open to organizations with the demonstrated ability to achieve tourism goals. Lodging taxes can be used for:
- Operations of tourism-related facilities owned or operated by nonprofit organizations
- Operations and capital expenditures of tourism-related facilities owned by the City of Sedro-Woolley.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications are due to the City Finance Office no later than 4:30 PM on September 17, 2019.

Grant awards will be distributed on a reimbursement basis.
